Cabo De Rama: My Budget-Friendly Adventure to Goa's Hidden Gem
If you’ve heard of Cabo De Rama in Goa, you’ve probably been told it’s a must-visit for its stunning views and serene vibes. I recently decided to see it for myself, and while it lived up to the hype, getting there was quite a challenge. Here’s my personal experience and how I managed to explore this gem without spending a fortune.
Getting There: A Bit Tricky but Worth It
Cabo De Rama is a beautiful spot in South Goa, but public transport options are almost non-existent. Private cabs charge anywhere between ₹1500 to ₹2000 for a round trip, which is way too steep for budget travelers like me.
But where there’s a will, there’s a way! I found an alternative that was not only cheaper but also a lot more fun.
Step 1: Start from Madgaon
The nearest city to Cabo De Rama is Madgaon, which is almost 30km. I made my way to the Kadamba Bus Stand, where buses to nearby villages are available.
Step 2: Bus Ride to Betul
From the bus stand, I took a local bus to Betul village, which cost me just ₹40. The ride was delightful! The driver played lively music, and I got to enjoy Goa’s countryside scenery. It felt like a true Goan experience, something you’d never get in a private cab.
Step 3: Bike Ride to Cabo De Rama
Once I reached Betul, I hired a private bike for ₹150 to take me to Cabo De Rama. The bike ride was smooth and filled with beautiful views. I also made sure to take the rider’s contact for a return trip since there are no direct transport options from Cabo De Rama.
Exploring Cabo De Rama
After a bit of effort, I finally arrived at Cabo De Rama, and it was absolutely worth it! Here’s what I loved:

- Cape Goa Cliff View Point: Perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy shots.

- Delicious Food: I treated myself to some amazing seafood at The Red Crab Seafood Restaurant and also tried local dishes at Black Crab Veg & Non-Veg Restaurant.
Why I’d Recommend This Trip
Despite the lack of public transport, Cabo De Rama is a place you shouldn’t miss. By taking the bus and hiring a bike, I saved a lot of money and got to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
My Overall Experience
I’d rate my Cabo De Rama adventure 4 out of 5 stars. The place is stunning, and the budget-friendly travel option made it even better. However, I had to knock off one star because of the high cost of private cabs, which can be a major hurdle for travelers who aren’t aware of cheaper alternatives.
