Base Training

Hey what’s up everyone! I was curious what kind of training you do when you’re not training for a specific race. I started running back in May and have since followed training programs for both the Stans Donut 5k (23:57) and Run Mag Mile 10k (43:57).

I’m a 26M and I did XC/track in high school, but had a long break. I have since picked running back up and it’s been my new favorite thing to do. Training for races has been good motivation and seeing those PRs are amazing too. I don’t see any races that I want to run the rest of this year, but I’m curious what you do when you base train?

My goal is to work up to higher distances and potentially try to get lucky and do the Chicago marathon next year! I have a forerunner 965, but have yet to try the Garmin coach. Is this feature a nice guide to follow?
