Food situation?

I haven't been to SXSW in over a decade and it's all changed quite a lot from what I've read. I'm specifically going to the games portion (9-12) to network and attend talks, many of which are long and overlap, though I'm also going to a lot of events outside the official SXSW venue. Some mention they have food, but a lot are invite only or RSVP. How likely is it that there will be food easily available throughout the event? I wasn't sure if I should bring cash, rely on card, plan on having to walk elsewhere to buy food, or if there was much on site. Mostly concerned about lunch, and whether I should pack one. Thanks!
