Uhh, where are all the trick or treaters?

Did trunk or treats suck all the life out of trick or treating? Or is everyone so overwhelmed with the election that they forgot about Halloween? I’m standing on my sidewalk, that’s been busy every Halloween starting at like 5pm for the past 4 years, and there’s no one. I’m super confused and also bummed I’ll have to figure out what to do with this huge bag of candy.
