Why is Lyft SO MUCH more in Seattle?

Our son is coming for Thanksgiving tomorrow and is taking Lyft to the airport. It's about a 25 minute trip in the Washington DC area. He complained it was about $25.

Just for "fun", I checked Lyft for a trip from where we live to SeaTac, it's about 30 minutes, close to the same trip length.

$91

$91, almost 4 times as much at the exact same time for close to the same trip length (well, 3 hours difference).

Taxi is half that.
