5 Week Update || LAMS lipo on abdomen & love handles

Here is my 5 week update on the LAMS procedure I got done at 365MC back in July.

I will link my pervious post about the procedure itself and the immediate recovery below for you to check out if you’re interested. (https://www.reddit.com/r/SeoulPlasticSurgery/comments/1e8pumz/lams\_lipo\_on\_abdomen\_and\_love\_handles/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button)

For context, I got LAMS done on my abdomen and love handles. The whole procedure took 3 hours and the doctor removed 47 bottles of fat from my abdomen and another 18 bottles from my love handles. (Each bottle is 50ml.)

On week 3, I still had some bruising. But it was extremely minimal and I wasn’t in any type of notable pain anymore. I was already needing to purchase new pants as well as almost all the ones I had been wearing before my procedure were now too large for me to wear without having to constantly hold them up — I know that sounds a bit exaggerated, but it’s true. I didn’t expect to need to purchase new pants so soon after my procedure either.

In regard to my weight, it was only 0.5KG less than it was before the procedure.

On week 4, I visited the clinic for some aftercare treatments to help quicken the healing process. The nurse said my puncture points were healing really well, but there was some lumps  of fat in the lower part of my abdomen. (I hadn’t noticed them myself but she pointed them out.) She told me there was no need to worry because lumping is normal and it goes away naturally after a few months. Regardless, they did a type of shock therapy to help dissolve the lumps. It felt like an odd massage and definitely helped.

The doctor also prescribed me some diet pills to help me lose visceral fat —the fat that can’t be removed via liposuction as it’s between the organs. He also prescribed something to increase my metabolism. Through all the testing the clinic had done before my procedure, I learned that my metabolism is really low — literally 1,256 calories a day.

In regard to my weight, I was only 1KG down from what I weighed the morning of my procedure. However, my stomach was 5 cm smaller. (The nurses measure my stomach every time I visit the clinic.)

On week 5, I visited the clinic again for another session of the shock therapy (an additional cost). When you get LAMS done, aftercare is included in the pricing. However, it only includes 2 rounds of fat dissolving injections and 1 session of shock therapy. The nurses told me the aftercare could start the week of my procedure if I wanted, but since I live in Korea they suggested I just come in weekly instead as starting that aftercare too soon after the procedure can be painful.

Now that my stomach had shrunk down by 8 centimeters — yes, the swelling went down by 3 cms in just a week — the lumps were a bit more obvious to me so I decided to add to my aftercare to speed up the recovery process. The lumps didn’t hurt except for in the morning when I would wake up. It felt like my abdomen was tight and needed a good stretch. After that, I didn’t feel them at all unless I ran my hands over my stomach looking for them.

I will update again as I get closer to seeing the full results.
