17 Week Update || LAMS lipo on abdomen & love handles

About 4 months ago now I got LAMS, or minimally invasive liposuction, done at 365MC on my abdomen and love handles. The doctor removed 47 bottles of fat from my abdomen and another 18 bottles from my love handles. (Each bottle is 50ml.) In total, he removed 3.25 liters of fat.

Now that all of the swelling has gone away and any bumps I had have dissolved, I can say that I lost about 10-11 cm off my stomach. I love my “body line” as the Koreans like to call it haha I l feel that the results look extremely natural and proportionate. I’m not suffering from any asymmetry or any other negative side effects.

In my last update, I mentioned finally being able to fit into the pants at non-plus size stores here in Korea. I’m happy to report that the Korean pants I initially purchased, size 30, are now my “bloated day” pants as they are too baggy in the waist and hip area to the point it is uncomfortable to wear them most days. I recently purchased a new pair of the same exact pants in a size 29. They fit the way the first pair did when I first got them, so I’m hopeful they will be more comfortable.

I’ve also noticed that I’ve had to size down in tops since my procedure. Before I would usually go for the large tops and sometimes size down to mediums depending on the cut. But now my default size for tops is medium because the larges tend to look like they are swallowing me up with fabric… I didn’t expect that. I assumed I’d stay the same top size and just not have a belly anymore..

Now for a speed round of questions as I doubt I will update again given that I’ve finally reached the 3 month mark, or when I’m supposed to see the full liposuction result.

Do I regret getting the procedure? No, not at all.

Do you have any scaring? Yes and no. I have little, red dots where the doctor inserted the liposuction needle, but they aren’t super noticeable and are supposed to disappear within 3 years. I guess you could say it’s TBD on the scarring.

Would I do it again? Yes, 100%! The amount of confidence I’ve gained since the procedure is amazing. Not to mention how much easier it is now to go shopping. The likelihood clothes will fit me is now so high that I don’t dread going into the changing room anymore.

Would I do it at the same clinic? Yes, 100%! I went to the clinic multiple times after my procedure for follow ups and every time the staff, nurses, and doctors were so kind and seemed genuinely invested in helping me achieve the best lipo results as possible.

Is there anything you’d warn people about who are thinking about getting LAMS?

  1. If you are visiting Korea to get this procedure done, I’d suggest at least staying in the country for 8-10 days after the procedure so that you don’t end up sitting on a plane for a long time while in pain. The first week was the worst when it came to pain during the recovery process. I remember having issues sleeping because of it, so I can’t even imagine trying to travel internationally.
  2. Prepare to spend a lot of money on pants from the time you get your procedure done until the time you see your final results. I’ve had to size down so many times since my procedure which was something I didn’t expect. I assumed I’d go down maybe 1 pant size, but in reality I went down 2-3 within the course of 13 weeks. Even the pants I bought a month after my procedure are too big to be worn with a belt now.

Well… I think that’s all I have to say. I hope you guys found the documentation of my experience helpful. Best wishes to those of you who decide to get LAMS.
