My current experience with Shure; I might go back to my static-y blue yeti.

I got a Sure SM7dB for Christmas from my mother. After getting home, i unpacked it and discovered I needed a stand and xlr cord to hook it up to my computer (mom didn't know it didn't come with a way to stand up or be set up, she assumed the cord would be in the box).

I thought, at the time of ordering, that my computer HAD a port like the one needed. After stand and cord arrive, I realize that the port i thought was compatible is about 30% too small. I end up ordering a new cord off amazon that is usb to xlr. It finally arrived today! hook it up, no input sound. not even static.

Fiddling with the switches on the back, I discover it is CONNECTED to my PC, (and for some reason plays the YT vid i have paused for about 3 seconds every time, it doesn't do this anymore) but no sound is coming through. I fiddle around, placing all the switches in unique positions, and i got it to work. once. I then flipped another switch after watching a YT vid about what the switches actually do, and that makes the audio vanish again.

At the time of writing this post, I have no real desire to keep troubleshooting this. I am probably just gonna return everything and go back to my static, but trusty, blue yeti. if anyone wants to try and offer advice here, I will accept it, but after this long waiting, i think i might just give up and go to a different company entirely.
