Robyn and gays

Hi all, In earlier seasons Robyn made it clear she was atleast lgb friendly and had gay friends. And was given credit by kody for forcing him to rethink prejudices and she did seem (on camera) accepting to when Leon came out as liking girls. So why would they choose a church that hates all lgbt?
