I don't really get the hype with this show?

Everyone in the show is always so angry? I get it's a show about grief and how people move on after a death. I know what grief looks like as I've lost many loved ones in the past three years. I know it makes people irritable because they can't find an answer for the death of loved ones or in some cases people feel as if they could've saved them and failed; thus comes the anger. But holy shit I can't say I see many positives in the show. Death can be beautiful as well. Some people go out with a bang and redeem themselves. What's weird is that it makes Los Angeles seem dull. Los Angeles is not dull even with all its morbid chaos.

So many characters in the show are just there to aggravate the viewer. Rico, Lisa, Nate, Keith, Billy, and Arthur are crazy annoying. I'm entering season 4 and I'm asking myself: Am I hate watching this?

I'm disappointed in how Claire's character is written. I get teenage angst, I get being confused with one's future, but it's the lack of depth in Claire's character that I find disappointing. Lauren Ambrose was perfectly casted and they did nothing with her. She's (Claire) just like her mother and never really breaks out of her shell. She seems stagnant. All the Fishers do really. I have no idea why David puts up with Keith. Keith was so nice the first time around and I get that PTSD and an unsure career path messes with him, but David is too practical to put up with Keith. I could go on about all the faults in the show. But Nate and Lisa together ??? Nate has too many outbursts too.

I like Brenda and I actually understand her. Her loss is more of being unable to forge a strong identity. Ruth seems oblivious but at some point you have to appreciate how she just gets through life. But that's her only redeeming quality.

I want to know what did you like about it? I can't seem to find the attraction? I feel like this show needs to be watched at a certain point in someone's life. It can only be watched under specific conditions.
