[Acne] purging or product?

i recently started using the ordinary acne set plus the ordinary 0.2% retinol emulsion. i started using it sunday (1-12-25) and yesterday i noticed my skin was really dry and irritated in some spots, and now today its super dry. the dryness is mostly on my cheeks where i usually get break outs and on my nose. the first time i used the products it was fine, no irritation or anything. i wash my face twice a day, morning and night, and retinol every other day. i havent had any breakouts yet, just dryness and irritation/burning.

my skin is already very sensitive as is, so thats why im wondering if it could be the poducts and if i should change/wash my face left often. i've also never used this many products on my skin/had an established routine. i used to just use a cleaner in the shower and moisturizer.
