[Skin Concerns] Best moisturiser for extremely oily skin?

Hi all - I’m quite new here but I love it already!

For background: I’m a 30 year old girl (woman?!) in the UK on long term medication for scarring acne, Lymecycline and Epiduo cream. It’s mostly under control save for the odd hormonal breakout.

My problem is that I have an incredibly oily T zone. Like, I’ll put my makeup on at 6am and by 8am I’m in the work bathroom blotting like mad. I’d say that I have to blot about once an hour to keep the shine under control. Urban Decay de-slick setting spray is a godsend when I do my fancy makeup, but I don’t like to use it every day.

This isn’t ‘a tiny bit shiny by 3pm’ oily, this is genuinely extreme.

I used to use No7 Beautiful Skin day cream for oily skin, then switched to Kiehl’s gel formula mattifying moisturiser as I read that gels can be better than heavy creams for problem skin. However, this seemed to break me out in tiny pimples all over my nose and forehead.

In the past I’ve tried the following mattifying moisturisers and none of them made any difference at all!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Garnier Mattifying cream Body Shop tea tree mattifying moisturiser

I use a light powder foundation, Never cream or liquid.

I’m sort of at my wits end with this, often product reviews will say ‘I have super oily skin and this worked amazing!’, but either they’re lying or I have genuinely the oiliest skin in the whole world!

Any recommendations or tips would be so appreciated.
