Why Sonic and Amy's dynamic isn't unique

People, especially on Twitter, claim that SonAmy is unique in the sense that they pioneered the whole "Girl makes all the advances, while boy gets awkward, shy, or aloof." trope.

I hate to break it to those people, but you're wrong; this trope, to my knowledge, goes as far back as the 1970's, specifically with the Muppet Show's Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy. For those unfamiliar, just type up "Kermit and Miss Piggy moments" on YouTube, and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Furthermore, this kind of dynamic has been present in animes that came around before Sonic (I think Naruto was one of them?)
