Madison's True Storyline---She's Not Over Austen
I just finished watching Madison's 'takedown' of JT at the end of last night's episode. I know Madison showed up prepared to do her typical bullying and character assassination that she has deployed in the past---but what I saw onscreen was the complete opposite. I saw a woman deliver lines that were rehearsed and rote and delivered with the sole purpose of deflecting and distracting away from the obvious fact that---
1.) Madison is married to man who does NOT trust her to remain faithful to him when alone with Austen because
2.) Madison has never gotten over Austen.
The only sin that JT committed was exposing Madison and Brett's marital issues by bringing up that bizarre Facetime and Brett asking JT to verify that Austen was not alone with Madison in her hotel room in Jamaica.
Clearly, Brett feels some sort of way about his wife's continued entanglement with Austen. I'm sure she likely tells him it's just 'part of her job'. But I have never believed that Madison has ever been over Austen. I'm thinking back to her outsized post-breakup reactions towards him in s7----literally following him around at the pool party screaming that he was a 'beta' while wearing the swimsuit she picked up in hopes of catching his attention.
She want's Austen's attention. She loathes the fact that she still wants Fonzy The Bear. The chemistry between is still palpable. He husband would have to be blind not to see it when the two of them are together.
I watched a woman doing everything in her power to distract away from the fact that she's still hung up on Muppett Mouth. JT had to pay the price. At the end of the episode I watched as she shimmied away from her little performance and all that came to my mind is
"The woman doth protest too much...."
