What Defines Good Writing in Star Wars?
A lot of the comments I've been seeing about The Acolyte have expressed frustration over the bad writing. However, I personally feel that the writing is comparable to the writing of most other Star Wars content. It may be a little heavy handed at times, but the original trilogy and the prequels could also be very heavy handed. Moreover, I don't think that heavy handedness is a mark of bad writing, especially in a medium that is expressly marketed towards children.
So my question is what specifically makes writing good or bad in Star Wars? I would love to hear specific moments in episodes/movies/comics/novels that people feel is great writing.
EDIT: I guess a second question I have is when people critique writing, are they critiquing dialogue, plot, episode pacing, season pacing, or a mix of all of these? "The Acolyte has bad writing" seems to be a very abstract argument and I'm trying to understand people's complaints better.
