Has anyone thought of blasting their way to NG+10 first?

Has anyone ever blasted through the main quest first? slogged through till ng+10, and *then* did all the faction/side quests? seems like a better plan as then you won't lose all the loot, won't waste a lot of time on things that will just be reset, and can then focus on actually completing the game at the end?
