That ridiculous fan theory was real?

That the brainwashed justice league were actually clones? That really doesn’t make any sense. Why would Brainiac make clones instead of brainwashing the real League? Also if they were clones, made to be evil doing Brainiac’s bidding why did the evil Flash momentarily revert to normal when Wonder Woman had the lasso of truth on him? It’s just like with the Black Deadshot. They try to fix an issue with the story and leave plot holes hanging.
