Online Data Analyst - I am skeptical
I had taken and failed the Core Satisfaction exam 3 times quite a while ago. They recently emailed and offered me to sit through the Online Data Analyst exam and I failed that one.
I am a marketing professional with 12 years of experience in PPC, SEO and SEM. I have a master's degree in marketing data analytics. I do this sort of thing daily. I know what people are looking for, I study and analyze queries all the time, in real life.
Considering I can find very few people who have passed and are willing to really discuss what the job entails, the pay, etc. I am starting to feel that the ratings we make in these exams are free labor for Telus. If passing and hiring good analysts were the goal, candidates would get feedback on specifically what was missed and how to make corrections, as the incorrect answers are more than likely due to semantics since the rating categories are subjective as are the meanings of queries to individual users.
I don't enjoy working for free. And that is what this is starting to feel like.
