How to use Airborne

I was playing Germany and then afterwards the USA and they both have Airborne Units(The 101st and Fallschimjager) but I have no idea how to use them to do airborne attacks. A Post said that I need to helicopter units but I don't understand how you are supposed to use them so can someone please explain it
