Have you ever questioned how game balancing decisions are made?
I want to discuss this without creating an "us vs. them" argument. I just always wonder why certain things get nerfed or buffed when no one asks for them.
- First, they changed how Grandpa works. Back then, families would prioritize leveling him to Level 1 for the exterior alarm, which seemed fair to me—except for camping the family house, in my opinion.
- Nerfing Choose Flight is fine, but they also changed how Scout works and turned killers into full-on savage, four-hit monsters.
- Nancy’s trap-setting speed—most victims didn’t seem to have an issue with her setting traps or performing actions faster, yet it never adjusted.
- Players were asking for Ripstall to have a longer cooldown or for it to not fully remove the fuse—so you could still shut it down instantly, but the fuse would remain if it was the second or third time it had been installed. Instead, they removed Scout.
- Choose Fight is painful for all family members, but at the same time, Hitch’s hand bone stun only lasts one second without it. Instead of adjusting the perk or the standard stun duration for family members, they introduced a family grapple power, giving Hand of 40 Strength instead.
I’m just confused—why do they recognize pain points but avoid fixing them directly, instead taking the game in a weird direction?
