I take satisfaction of telling guests “no” to checking out at Tech
For starters, we are a very high theft store. We have lock cases in back order for the entirety of Tech, as well as HBA.
It is THREE DAYS before Christmas, and the store has been packed, day in to day out. Tech has been as busy as Black Friday for several days in a row, and I can imagine it’ll stay busy until Christmas comes and goes.
Guests come back to tech and EXPECT us to check them out as a regular customer. Sometimes, if the guest has a tech item and a few other items, we’ll ring them up. But guests have been coming back with a cart full of regular store items and go, “can I check out back here?” “No, you may not,” I say in various forms, all day. To which the guests add “but if I get a tech item, I can check out back here” “Also, no”
They get PO’d that I’d even say such a thing, let alone make them “wait in a three hour line up front.”
DON’T COME THREE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND EXPECT THERE TO BE NO LINES IN ANY STORE!
