Do looks really matter

Now for context my close frnd's , sibling is very insecure bout his looks . He is 17 and never dated anyone. But just cuz his looks arnt at par with today's GREEK GOD standards it had taken a mental toll on him , we talked to him a lot but still no improvement in his mental state so far . Kindly drop some suggestions as to what should we should say him to lift up his mood !?!?
