Can someone help me understand where my girlfriend is hearing this from.

So yesterday I said the name of trump and my girlfriend started crying when I did. When I asked her why they were crying they said it was because trump is rounding up all LGBTQ people and either imprisoning them or executing them. I asked them where they heard this because to my knowledge this is blatant misinformation. She replied idk and then talked about trans kids being bullied in school to death and that they’re terrified that someone’s going to hurt them. I didn’t say this to their face but I don’t understand how school bullying(yes ik it was to the point of death and not just bullying)is the same as the government rounding up people and killing them. Is there any factual evidence of this happening because I haven’t found any.
