Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk
I’ve been having these intrusive thoughts while listening to the likes of Hasan Piker (Hasanabi on Twitch daily) and clashing with that, Richard Wolff (82 year old American Marxian professor of economics):
The look and action of those fighting for positive change in our world are just as important as words. Aesthetics matter, whether we like it or not.
To young socialists - those who believe in progressing forward in healthcare, education, environment, the justice system, culture/arts and economy: Work out. Feel great. Look great. Not because we need to conform to superficial standards, but because strength, health, and confidence inspire others to believe in the change we’re working toward.
Taking care of yourself isn’t just for you - it’s a powerful act that shows the world what thriving under socialism could mean.
For the hunks and hotties already turning heads: Learn about socialism. You’ve got the attention of the crowd, now use it. Combine your charisma with knowledge and empathy, and you can help energize a movement that’s fighting for the rights and dignity of the working class.
It might seem obvious, but I think it's worth saying: Many of the most knowledgeable people or actual servants of the public don’t get listened to enough. They’re often older, or less conventionally attractive, and because of that, their voices don’t carry as far as they should.
That’s not fair, but it’s reality. We need to learn from them and amplify their messages while leveraging our own presence and energy to push society forward.
We’ve seen how the attractiveness of a certain alleged vigilante can energize working people to realize that they are being exploited by a capital-focused system. Let’s take that lesson and use it to fight for a world where everyone can thrive.
Be the change - and look good doing it.
