in the first episode his girlfriend got OBLITERATED by A-Train who then later was recruited by MM (which is hypocritical because mm said to butcher that the biggest betrayal but he could commit is recruiting soldierboy) And then it just keeps going down for everybody until season 3 where hughie might be having a good life, he gets a good job at a place thats a legal version of what the boys did… UNTIL HIS BOSS EXPLODES SOME GUY and now a lot of shit happens and his new girlfriend is taken by homelander and blah blah blah season 4 his MOM COMES BACK THEN HIS DAD FUCKING DIES but “eh its just hughie” AND THEN HE GETS RAPED
