Kate Wyler is probably my favorite female fictional character of all time.

I'm a guy who has always been into TV and Movies. And a lot of times, I've seen some great female characters. Peggy Olson, Brienne of Tarth, Olenna Tyrell, Jessica Jones, but I feel like Kate Wyler takes the cake.

A lot of times, mainstream media and Hollywood tends to blame the public, and men for not liking the female characters that are depicted in TV/movies. This is because most of the time they aren't well-written and tend to blame the fans for the negative reception rather than take accountability for their own creative failures. Kate Wyler, however, is one of the few female fictional characters who can move past all of the bad writing we've seen on TV. She's charismatic, funny, relatable, and highly intelligent. She reacts to everything very realistically, and she doesn't make any decisions that we wouldn't do if we were in her shoes. She has complex relationships and struggles to reconcile her ambitions and her desires. She was literally about to cheat on her husband, and I didn't hate her for doing so, considering she had a broken marriage that was on the verge of divorce, with another man that I thought was a more healthy partner for her. It's easier for me to identify with her personality and flaws, rather than her gender which for the last 20 years of peak television, I haven't seen any TV show do for a leading female character.

I'm excited to see where her character goes, and what decisions she will make that will affect the story going further, a feeling I don't think I've had with any female fictional character for a long time.

Also, Keri Russell is a VERY underrated actress and the Emmys need to just give her every Emmy they can immediately
