Realtors listing for low prices

Sellers relator rejected our deal even though we offered over listing price. They came back saying that they wanted 50K higher than what we offered. How does that make sense?

If you want $900K, list it for that amount. If you get higher, well and good. But if not, they should be going with offer that match listed price.

What are your opinion on this?
