Do you mind if someone laughs at comedically timed tic?

I don't know if this is an ignorant question. I don't have Tourette's but I know someone who's tics sometimes has comedic timing. For example someone got him a shirt and asked him if he liked it and he replied with "no it's very ugly"--which was a tic. I let out a laugh because it was a funny response. But honestly later I wondered if I shouldn't have.

Ps. I would ask him myself but we're not close and I don't really know anyone else with Tourette's. Also, I will be a healthcare worker in a few years, and although I haven't encountered anyone with Tourette's yet, I know I will and I just want to know for future reference.
