Christmas Event - How to Get the Red Tank
That's all we care about, right? So I've been trying to wrap my head around the event, and it seems to me that decorating the tree is the best way to get snowflakes. I stored up 950 candy canes, and that got me a total of 27 snowflakes. So for the purposes of collecting enough snowflakes for the red tank, that's not enough. The thing that pays the most snowflakes is decorating the tree. Those same 950 candy canes got me 33 bells (tree decorations).
Based on my calculations between the free daily candy canes, the 750 daily candy canes from the 50 levels (if you watch all 50 videos), and the extras from Santa's Supplies, you should get around 1,020 candy canes every day. With the 33:950 ratio for bells:candy, that would mean that you could end up with around 850 more bells through the end of the event.
I'm at a level 9 tree, and it takes 200 bells to level that to 10. It takes 20 more bells per level, meaning that it takes 420 to get the tree to level 21 for that bonus of 2,500. So if I get 850 more bells through the end of the event, I'm not going to be anywhere near to level 21. Even if my calculations are off, it's clear to me that you won't be able to level the tree to 21 without buying the bells and candy canes.
I'll track how many bells and candy canes I get tomorrow to be sure, but I thought I'd put this out there for anyone grinding candy to get to the red tank.
UPDATE: There was one thing I didn't realize before, and that's that every decoration/bell you use on the tree gets you between 1 and 3 points towards the goal. That means if they average 2 points per bell, we're all likely to get much higher even without paying money. That said, I still don't see any way to get past MAYBE #16, and given that the requirement increases for every tree level, I feel confident you'd have to shell out some serious cash to get to 21.
HOWEVER, what also occurred to me is that it would take 5 golden tokens to every 1 red token, so I'd be grinding at this game for years even if I could get a free red unit. Also, the tank is nice, but it's not the game-changer that the rocket car is with its fire barrier. That would actually make a giant difference in power. I don't feel like the red take is nearly as impactful as even the regular unit's red variant.
