Moving from EEn + CPA to Monotherapy questions
Today I'm on 5mg EEn per 7 days and 12.5mg CPA pey and 1mg finasteride daily.
been having tons of issues with hairloss, two times telogen effluvium that unmasked androgenetic alopecia which finasteride has helped with partially.
medical trichologist/dermatologist told me that while the AGA has slowed down to not be a source of worry anymore with fin but it is not regrowing, she was considering putting me on dutasteride but has now withdrawn that offer without knowing my DHT levels (which is a test that costs 650€, fml)
in my head two years ago my my hair was a LOT more healthy and did not suffer any hair loss or visible scalp when i was on E2 Patches + Spiro and only started a while after adding CPA (patches / gel + CPA since then, injections started summer 2024) so i'm considering if dropping the CPA for monotherapy is some way but unsure how to do it.
i also noticed hairloss at temples when i added cpa initially but quickly added finasteride which made it regrow a bit, kept fina since then.
im guessing i have to wean of slowly, but over how long time? 12.5 mg every 2 days and bring it down to every 3 days and even 4 days over the course of 3 months maybe?
and is it even a good idea to tinker with this right now when my hair is in this state that it is?
i feel like it started with CPA but isn't it suppossed to be an anti-androgen? how can AGA continue on CPA without any other signs of high T / DHT being present?
