Soldiers of Trebizond, last sons of Rome, O Stavros Nika! (C&C welcome)

These have been really fun kitbashes.

The cone helmets are technically the only thing Byzantine about them.

The swords are from a Mongolian kit ment to represent parmenion sabres.

All of them with the exception of the combat engineers are armed with Carcano rifles and dressed in WW2 Italian uniforms. My head canon is that the Genoese (now part of the kingdom of Italy, HRE) still have a large economic influence over the Black Sea so they supply Trebizond’s army with Italian gear but domestic helmets and sabres are still in service with the army.

The combat engineers have c96 carbines that I’m counting as submachine guns. Their engineer armour is represented by Persian scale mail, the gas mask heads are from a Russian ww1 kit.

I’m using Adrian helmets on my faithful warbands because I’ve already used stahlhelms for my heretics.

Hopefully soon I’ll have these guys based and have some cavalry to show off too:)
