How to be born again??

Hello everyone. First things first: English isn’t my first language, so I will try my best in asking all the questions I have. When I was about 10 years old, my aunt became a born-again Christian. I knew she was born again because she changed a lot for the better. Even though I was young, I could notice it. One day I asked her, "How do you become born again?" and she told me that you will experience spiritual intervention. Since then, I have tried my hardest to be born again. I read the Bible and pray every night but have never experienced spiritual intervention. Even though I’m trying, I just feel like I’m not a real born-again Christian. She also said God chooses some people to be born again, and I feel like I’m not one of the chosen ones. Is my destiny to be in hell? I don’t even know anymore. Looking at the world around us, you can tell the end is near, and I desperately want to be saved. Thank you.
