How often should communion be?

My new-ish church does communion once every two weeks and it just feels weird/wrong to me because the church I grew up in did communion every week without exception.

The name “communion” makes me think it should be done when we come together as a church (on the sabbath). I believe it was done at least once per week, if not more frequently within the early church.

What are your thoughts?
