The state of veterinary care in this country (America) has achieved scam status.

In the last six months my wife's dog had a cracked nail. The thing wasn't hanging on by much but she wanted to take the dog to have it removed. They basically gave it a Benadryl and used some clippers to hack it off. Nothing too involved $600 charge. My dog has since had the same issue. He wasn't in any physical discomfort so I let him go about his normal life while monitoring it. The nail was close to falling off on its own so I put him in a cone and clipped it. I bought a cone to keep him from licking it and a bottle of peroxide to keep it clean. Total bill $25. You're telling me that it costs $575 for 10minutes time between maybe a DVM and a Vet Tech? No fucking thank you. The rip offs just keep on rolling in this country.
