French culture isn’t fancy or elegant
People like to pretend that French culture is some form of sophisticated culture that places heavily elphasis on stuff.
People often talk about the “complicated” technique it takes to make French food, however, they pretend that every dish in French cuisine requires complicated techniques when in fact most dishes that are commonly eaten by French people don’t. This also ignores the fact that every country has both dishes that are bith simple and complicated to make.
People also think Paris is a very beautiful city and rimanticized it. There are many romantic settings in the world and Paris isn’t really one of them.
Many people also think the French have the best fashion in the world. However, as a Thai who has been to the richest district of Paris, I can confidently say that Thais have a better fashion sense than the French, even without wearing designer brands.
People have to stop romanticizing France. France isn’t some special utopia or heaven on earth. It is a normal country like the UK or the USA or your own country. Its cuisine isn’t better than yours, its fashion isn’t better than yours, and its cities are not better than yours. This isn’t to say that French culture is bad or anything, but that it is just like all other cultures on earth, not better not worse.
