Houstonians spent this week in Tucson and it was fantastic.

Wife and I visited Tucson from Houston this past Saturday to Thursday for spring break. Stayed at a BnB in the city with the most pleasant host. From the scenic landscape to the excellent food with unique experiences and perfect weather Tucson provided a great vacation! Everyone was very friendly and great ambassadors for the city. Highlights from our trip:

  • Drove a pair of TVR Cerberas (car people IYKYK this was a bucket list item)
  • B&B Cactus Farm
  • Horseback riding in the Catalina foothills
  • Biosphere 2 self-guided tour
  • Sunsets at San Xavier Mission and Gates Pass
  • Botanical Gardens
  • Desert Museum (get there before 10 AM to see the bird demo)
  • Saguaro National Park
  • Pima Air & Space Museum
  • Forever Donkey Rescue (Benson, this was a fun experience highly recommend)
  • Mount Lemmon Sky Center Stargazing (was unpredictably cloudy but got to tour the 60" telescope)
  • Saw a coatimundi on the way down Mount Lemmon!
  • Our favorite food was at Tumerico but also enjoyed El Guero Canel (Sonoran Dogs), Hifalutin, Prep and Pastry (breakfast), Taqueria Al Zarape, and Screamery (cowboy cookie was good)
  • We were disappointed in the Eegees ☹️
  • Didn't try Arby's on 22nd maybe next time

We plan to return when the weather is similar to this week's with visits to the Titan Missile and Mirror Lab (supposed to reopen next month according to UA guide at Sky Center). Just wanted to share our positive experience with the residents and give ideas to any other out of towners. Thanks for the getaway!
