Pages in comics that make you pause and go:Okay

I’m working my way through Grant Morrisons Invisibles for a friend.

The best I can explain it is, what if Matrix but about Esoteric Occultism fuelled by schizophrenic LSD episodes in the way that only Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison can offer.

Pseudo philosophical word jumbles mixing the odd deity and Ars Goetia demon reference. Mankind’s psychic power etc etc mixing in multiple narratives to convey the same message at the end of the volume etc etc with art and panelling that can feel so disjointed that every time you turn the page you have to check if you turned to at once.

All of that pales, in comparison to the page I’ve just witnessed, in context our team of Invsisibles the sorcerers fighting against the secretly society that run everything. Are on their way back from a time travel mission rescuing Lord Descarde the inventor of S&M from Cyphermen who are the brain controlled randoms hijacked by the evil society. Descarde will be living as a ghost in San Fransisco until his actual self dies because timelines are parallel etc etc

HOWEVER their journey home is interrupted because there bodies from where they were astral projecting from were attacked by Orlando the evil societies top Faceless assassin, because he’s also the Aztec god Xipe Totec. Some get split up, one of them, Ragged Robin goes to a church in France that had a statue of Asmodeus added in, classic occult stuff where she finds out the Cyphermen have acquired an artifact and I just needed to throw the page here.

So yeah, just needed to unload this and hear some other peoples similar situations while I get to the end of the volume.
