Need birth control help, please!

It’s time to get my Nexplanon implant out and I’m exploring all my options. The OBGYN I started seeing recommended a Kyleena IUD because they have the least hormonal impact and I have PCOS.

I’ve never been able to use tampons because they hurt me immensely, but, for some reason, have been able to use small menstrual cups. OBGYN said that there’s a smaller version of the IUD now and that, worst case, if it’s too painful during insertion, they’ll stop.

I’m really on the fence. I’ve not heard anything good about IUDs, plus my struggles with tampons make me even more hesitant about it. Also, the NSFW part, my boyfriend and I have some really rough/hardcore/wild sex with lots of different positions and contortions — I’m afraid it will get dislodged or some other issue will happen.

Less hormonal changes sounds nice, but is it worth it with everything else that I’ve heard about it? I’m also losing weight pretty steadily so my PCOS symptoms are getting better on their own — I just don’t want anything to make them worse lol.

Any iud or other birth control stories/recommendations? About a month or two after my nexplanon insertion, I got pretty sick and steadily gained weight that I’d lost and it became even harder to lose it (hard enough as is with PCOS 🙂‍↕️). Maybe it wasn’t the nexplanon, but I’d just like to hear from any other people.
