Abu Dhabi hotels' prices are skyrocketing, any idea why?

I have been going to AD weekly for months now (for business), and I sleep 1 night there. One thing I noticed is that when I started going, the company's budget was aed150-200, which I would get a very decent 4 stars hotel in downtown, but now the same hotels are averaging aed300-400 per night, any idea why? Am I missing some global event that's going around in AD?
