Is Zepound and WeGovy covered on UPS insurance?
My dad actually works at UPS and I’m a dependent on his account and usually I never have to pay for any medication but earlier in the year I got prescribed zepound but I had to pay out of pocket. When I called Team Care/ BCBS they said no weight loss medication is covered at all unless you have diabetes and I don’t have diabetes, but I’m 24F 5’2 at 196 pounds. January 2024 I was 230 so I lost quite a bit of weight without the medication but I still want to get on it because I’m struggling with my food addiction… I am seeing a therapist but I’m still struggling but can’t afford to pay $500 a month for the medication. If you were able to get it covered, what exactly did you do or is there any other medication that would help with weight loss that UPS insurance will pay for? Or in 2025 will it be covered? My doctor even tried the prior authorization as well and the insurance said they don’t cover it which is so crazy because I literally never have to pay for any of my medications. Or is there some tonight else my doctor should do so I can get it covered? I do live in Indiana by the way if that matters.( sorry I don’t know much about insurance)
