Got a response from my senator concerning my I-130 petition.

Hi all, I’ve been waiting on a response for my I-130 petition (us citizen petitioning for alien spouse) for 942 days since intake (June 2022). I reached out to my senator following this sub’s advice by filling out a “help with a government agency” form.

Below is the response I received. Is this expedite request form something I have to submit myself that won’t go through the senator or should I send the form back to my senator? Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Chicago Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth to request assistance with USCIS. In order to submit an expedite request, your case must meet one or more of the listed criteria at https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/how-to-make-an-expedite-request. The agency will require your statement, justification for the expedite and supporting documents/evidence. If you would like to submit an expedite request, please provide your supporting documentation.

Again, thank you for contacting the Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. Should you have any questions, you may reach our office at (312) 886-3506.

Thank you,

Chicago Casework Team Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth
