4th Year thankful for this semester
As the title states, I’m a 4th year and this semester has been a blessing for me. From what I’ve seen, I seem to be in the minority, but I was curious if there are others out there that feel similarly. By the start of the semester, I’d been feeling so burnt out from college in general and my mental health has continuously been tanking with each additional year due to the increased pressure and rigor of classes. To be honest, this semester has actually been really good for me and being able to stay home with my family and do online classes has been amazing. I’ve also gotten a lot more productive at home since there are no distractions, no commute to class, and no unproductive study sessions with friends, so the increased workload has been very manageable. Sure, there are things I miss about being on grounds, but I’m trying not to think about it as a loss.
However, as much as I like being home and don’t totally hate online classes, I’m finding it really hard to relate to people because the general consensus is that everyone is miserable, while I feel guilty for thinking this has been one of my better semesters. I’m staying home in the spring too, so I was wondering if anyone here has felt this semester and “break” from the norm has actually been good for them?
