would taking on a contract be a decent move?
I was laid off in August of last year (4mo ago). I've been interviewing, and have gotten rejected a fair number of times at this point and have not yet received an offer that I like. I still have decent prospects but I don't want to get caught in a negative cycle of joining a toxic company. I'm trying to be intentional about my search.
I'm currently interviewing with FAANG for a contract role. I know most people think contracts don't have benefits blabla but I think it might not be a bad move given the market? I could make sure my skills stay sharp, while not dealing as much with internal politics, getting really good cash pay while continuing my search for something better / full time. And I won't get blacklisted for leaving early because I'd be a contractor w less repercussions for leaving early.
How do FAANG contracts look on resumés? Do yall think it's a good idea?
Thoughts?
