Kampala roads
Recently those two small passes after Clock tower junction as you head to Kibuye were closed, the two passes branched off to Katwe lessening traffic for those going to Kibuye. Now Kibuye is terrible especially on weekdays.
Mukwano road hasn't made 1 year but it's now full of potholes all around the CID side area. That junction on 5th street where the street meets 6th and 7th street, place is called Go-down has been constructed 3 times in the past 2 years, it's still terrible, traffic jam holds for like 30 minutes yet it's the only way to cross from Kampala up to Muyenga and beyond areas without going through the Kisugu route which is also always packed especially that junction as you head down to Deposh Kabalagala. Muyenga roads are terrible, check diplomat road.
Too much traffic around Kibuye, which is the only way to cross from Kampala to Entebbe side, many people live that side. Don't be caught on that road from Kabusu to Kibuye in a rush hour time, y'all play phone games until you get tired, ndeeba is dangerous these days. The lights at wandegeya have eased traffic flow, no more traffic policemen and their disorder. Mulago junction is great, but there are no lights at Acacia city oils junction.
Ntinda has terrible roads, if you are coming in from Bukoto and some traffic jam at the lights which no one ever follows. There is some sanity at spear motors junction, bugolobi market area is being worked on. Spring road from MOIA is terrible, avoid it at all costs.Too much jam at Bweyogerere, even leaks onto the bypass, I don't know why motorists don't wanna use that road behind the stadium would simplify traffic in that area. Nansana especially around Jenina and Masitoowa have a lot of jam, that road from Jenina to Ganda is terrible and has been like that for years, it only gets better as you go through the swamp.
Wakaliga road has jam at Mengo hospital through to Lubiri Sec, but they made new roads from Nakulabye through Muteesa 2 road straight to drop you at the Jacaranda junction, I don't know why people still stick to wakaliga road. Nateete road is terrible, too many potholes between Kabusu and Busega and the ever non functional lights, it's also very dusty.
Maska road from Busega to Kitemu always has traffic jam, if you go through Entebbe road to Kasenge, up to Budo and down to Nakasozi junction you might save some time. Nakawuka road is a great option from using Masaka road but unfortunately the rulers decided to construct a completely new road from Busega to Mpigi instead of working on Nakawuka road which serves the same purpose.
If a traffic policemen who has no motorcycle or police car stops you on a steady moving road, don't stop, you will regret it, he can't chase you and he can't ticket you without seeing your permit, just go. Bodabodas make driving in town a hellish experience, you'll get your car banged, slapped and scratched before you learn to ignore them. Kabalagala and Kansanga have some traffic jam but not that much.
Naalya to Kyaliwajjala via Vienna school is terrible, I personally hate that side of town, had a girlfriend there in 2023 but driving to her place required so much patience, the situation hasn't changed. Somehow, traffic through Kampala road is most often light and you can get from Kitgum house to Wandegeya in 7 minutes .
I have read that the new ED for KCCA wants to focus on traffic flow in the city, that's one hell of a herculean task.
