UA POV: Zaluzhnyi on Ukraine’s war losses: Critical – 50,000 killed and over 300,000 wounded - Censor.net

Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that the number of Ukrainian army losses at this stage of the war with Russia is a "critical point."

He said this during a speech at the School of Public Administration of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Censor.NET reports.

"Calculate what 50,000 out of 5.5 million people who were registered are. The result is zero, because this is a critical point. Which, I think, we are unlikely to cross. At the same time, the war has changed under the influence of two factors. The first is demography. Let me draw your attention to this: 50,000 killed in Ukraine and more than 300,000 wounded," he emphasized.”

According to the former commander-in-chief, the Russian Federation has also suffered very significant losses. Although it has a much better demographic situation, "for them, too, the critical threshold is at least 250,000 dead.

"This does not mean they can't go out and round up (men – ed.) to send them to the front. They can. They can even march them to the front in perfect formation—because this is tyranny. They can do that. But whether they will actually fight is another question," Zaluzhnyi added.
