Stigma around vapers

Despite the vaping community being one of the most helpful and welcoming communities I've been in, from quitting smokers to hobby vapers; and yet, I can't help but notice that it's one of the most judged out here.There's always a holier than thou attitude when people see me or my friends vaping. I can stand the "you're inhaling cancer air" jokes, but some just assume we're straight up douches, and treat us as such when we're just having fun. So I can't help but ask, where did this stigma come from?
