Vaush's recent video perfectly explains the problem with my Conservative friends.
Initially, it was nice to have people to talk politics with. Especially those who had opitional points to my own. They weren't push overs either. They would absolutely let me know if I got something wrong, and that would force me to invest more time into researching topics before I spoke on it (or take the "Idk enough to comment on it" approach Vaush taught me).
Now it's too tiring to constantly keep debunking them. Not even the "ultimate takedown" type of debunk. They will just constantly link social media posts of conservative propagandist, where the only thing to solve is how old the interview the user clipped out of context is. Or reading past the article headline/checking other articles with the same story to figure out what the full context of the story. And do they find new sources to site when I constantly prove them wrong? No! They just go right back to posting the same couple of users/media sites.
I'm considering taking a break from them to find some other friends that I can hang out with. Peers I can just hang out with and share common interests in, without having it devolve into a political debate.
