Not happy with my 2022 Tiguan R-Line
I traded my WRX because I wasn't a fan of the Subaru SUVs and settled on a 2022 Tiguan R-Line Comfortline because it was a nice looking vehicle and I wanted something more practical for mountain biking.
After getting it I immediately started having issues... Burned a quart of oil before the first oil change, was told that was 'normal' by the dealership, my infotainment centre glitches and freezes semi regularly, and then most recently after 15k, it started saying "Travel Assist not Availble" when touching the bottom of the steering wheel, and as time goes on it’s getting worse and is doing it more frequently and randomly. The dealership agreed to replace my steering wheel, but they’re on back order and I'm 250th in line with no ETA.
So here I am groaning about all the things I hate about my Tiguan wondering if other people feel the same way.
Downsides: •The door alarm is annoying AF •The heat is either burning your face or freezing your feet, seems to be no middle ground •You cannot disable back up alarms when you have a bike rack on, and if you hit the button in the middle console, your camera turns off • The touch sensors for the climate control are boarderline a distraction •I turn my heated steering wheel on every time I try to change a song •It takes an oddly long time for my washer fluid to actually come out on my windshield when I hold the button
Pros: •It's a sharp looking SUV •It drives nicely
Maybe I'm just not a VW person???
EDIT: it’s been confirmed that it is normal for me to have burned a quart of oil, I’ve never had one before and didn’t know that apparently common bit of knowledge about Volkswagens
