1 night gap between split stay
I booked a split stay at movies, April 27-may 1 and May 2-may 8, with the idea that I’ll have to keep an eye out for may 1-2 to become available. I was hoping if someone cancels at some point in the next couple of months, I could snag that single night in a standard room and then ask if we could just remain in the same room the entire time. The reason I did this is that it was significantly cheaper since it incorporates the stay longer and save deal past May 1, and the Canadian resident deal up to April 30.
Nothing has come available yet. I was looking on Costco and I could basically book the full stay length for $550 Canadian more, in a preferred room. The downside is that it’s not refundable if something else does become available. I calculated and even if we had to do a preferred room at full price for a single night on the current stay for the May 1-2 night, that would = $300 Canadian, so we’d still save $250.
I’m debating what to do. That $250 could go towards upgrading our 10 day tickets to park hoppers, or staying another night. I also don’t really care about a preferred room, especially because during our stay the main pool is going to be closed for renovations. If Music or Sports became available I’d prefer to switch. Thoughts? Do rooms come available closer to or should I just book the Costco deal?
TLDR; I have a one night gap in my split stay. Do I wait to see if there’s cancellations closer to, or pay $550 more for the full stay length in a preferred room.
