Dress options for NOLA Friday evening wedding

Hi!

I'm attending a wedding in New Orleans on a Friday, 7pm. Dress attire is semi formal. We have to travel a few hours for it and change into our get ups beforehand.

I'm having trouble picking a dress. My male partner will be wearing a dark grey blazer, white shirt, black dress pants + shoes and a tie to match my outfit (so - green, black, purple, or burgundy).

I'll have black heels and purse with pearl jewelry. My hair will be down in waves and pushed back with a headband, or in a ponytail with a velvet bow. I'll have a black cotton pashmina to wrap for warmth. I'm fixing my tan lines! Please ignore the cat toys!

It's my first fancy event since losing a ton of weight + corrective surgeries so I'm a bit lost.

Options:

  1. Velvet black cowl neck Pros:
  2. Most comfy and I think it is flattering,
  3. Doesn't wrinkle (this picture was straight out of bag) - there is ruching on the sides

Cons: - Pashmina fabric doesn't super match the velvet dress, - Would like to wear shapewear most likely, not a big con though, may skip it

  1. Black boat neck (also have in royal purple) Pros:
  2. Flattering (lower bodice seam hits at my natural waist)
  3. Modest, easy choice
  4. Looks nice with pashmina fabric
  5. Bow belt fits my black velvet bow accessories

Cons: - Boat neck is somewhat high for the necklace I was planning but workable, - Looks best with a petticoat (but is loud) - Optional bow belt is very stiff - Wrinkles terribly

  1. Green sweetheart neckline (also have in burgundy and black, see bonus last pic for black) Pros:
  2. Flattering
  3. Modest but not entirely so
  4. Looks nice with pashmina fabric

Cons: - Modesty "seam" can look a bit strange without dress tape - Looks best with a petticoat (but is loud) - Wrinkles terribly
